Walking the Labyrinth at Wistaston Oblate Retreat Centre
Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd June 2025:
Walking the Labyrinth Weekend at Wistaston Oblate Retreat Centre
The labyrinth is a safe, beautiful prayerful holding space and offers time to slow down, walk one's pathway, listen to the inner journey, be attuned to the freeing movements of the soul. Following the path of the labyrinth, we mindfully journey inwards towards the centre, towards God, and then walk back out into the world. Releasing, receiving and renewing, this is time to find affirming space, to deepen a sense of our true self and journey on in our spirituality and faith. The labyrinth is an ancient walking meditation, used in many places and is a space conducive for wellbeing. The labyrinth has only one path (so you can’t get lost!) made up of the way to the centre, the centre itself and the way back out into the world. The slow, mindful walking can be good for the body, can awaken creativity and offers a spiritual space to potentially become midwives to our souls…
This weekend will introduce the labyrinth and include labyrinth prayer walks (indoor and hopefully mainly outdoor).

Residential Retreat at Ballyvaloo Retreat and Conference Centre:
THE WOMAN AT THE WELL (John 4:1-42) | An invitation to journey to the well, to Christ the Living Water.
At Jacob’s well, Jesus broke strict rules of his time in order to reach a woman who was struggling with past relationships, exclusion and isolation; he listened to her in a non-judgmental way, saw her huge potential and she was transformed, finding her own confidence and her own voice. We will explore this intriguing Gospel passage, which helps to illuminate women’s inner soul journeys and offers an invitation to walk to the ‘well’, to Christ the One who restores us. The retreat will include imagery, theatre presentation, discussion of the Gospel passage, Ignatian guided prayer based on the beautiful journey to the well, etc.
